In this blog, I wanted to share an article that was written by Victoria Hoffman at Hubdoc and provide a little bit of perspective commentary:
A really good point about what the cloud is. From the user perspective of the cloud all you need to do is have internet access. Many of the programs can operate from apps directly on your phone or tablet or can be accessed from your internet browser.
Some really good benefit points here. Nothing more to add on my part.
A great point on the security aspects of the cloud but I want to focus on the other portions. This is where there is a tremendous opportunity for small businesses everywhere. Despite what us bookkeepers think small business tend not to revolve around bookkeeping and accounting processes. The opportunity lies in not only the clouding bookkeeping and accounting but also within business operations themselves... and then integrating that with cloud bookkeeping and accounting making the whole workflow seamless.
Victoria's comment is great... but I'm going to take it a step further. If you aren't willing to makes changes your accounting are you doing the same with your business operationally? If you aren't adapting operationally what is the plan to survive in the current, ever changing marketplace?
Bookkeeping & Accounting is something every business has to deal with regardless of industry, type or structure and it isn't a revenue centre. That means any costs saved are direct and any opportunity can be direct to a revenue centre for growth opportunities.
